Senior Researcher, PhD, DR (Animal science - Ruminant nutrition)

I am an animal scientist with further skills in ruminant nutrition. My objective is to contribute to multicriteria evaluation (nutritional, environmental, health ...) of plant resources intended for animal feed in tropical areas. The resources studied are classical feed (herbage, cereals, peas ...) as well as unconventional food (co-products of food crops, leaves of trees and shrubs fodder, coproducts of the agro-industry ...).

My main livestock target is the ruminant but I am also interested by others animal species studying the optimization of biomass use in mixed crops livestock systems.

I'm working on several research projects:

  • Evaluation of the feed value of plant resources (chemical composition, ingestion, digestive and metabolic use) and production performance (growth).
  • Quantification of greenhouse gases emission (CH4, N) by ruminants and remediation strategies by feed.
  • Interaction between nutrition and gastrointestinal parasitism in small ruminants: feed and nutraceuticals remediation strategies

I am involved in research development through a network of collaborations with a joint research development unit, producer groups, producers ... This network is a vector for collaborative and citizen research, transfer actions, biotechnical innovations.

I'm contributing to training through lectures at the university and supervision of students during their thesis (master, engineer, PhD).
